#WACOM INTUOS PRO DRIVER MAC 10.9 DRIVER#
I had totally forgotten that the last thing I had done in Painter before I installed the new driver was that I was trying different Work Spaces! Choose ‘All Workspaces’ release the Shift key.Īfter I HELD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY while starting Painter and selected “ALL WORKSPACES,” the program opened fine without crashing. Suggestion from Elaina Moore-Kelly: “hold down the shift key and attempt to launch Painter. Suggestion from Ipecats: “have you tried performing factory reset (shift+click launching painter) ” So, I searched Google further and I finally found an answer that corrected my problem!!! Here’s the exact 2014 posts from the PAINTER FACTORY forum: I know that will be what I need in order to use my Wacom (since I had installed the wrong driver)… but unfortunately, Painter continued to crash upon startup. How confusing! So, I uninstalled the incorrect driver and installed the legacy driver you pointed me to. Somehow I didn’t know that Intuos is the new name for Bamboo. Skip, thank you so much for taking the time to help me.

I am guessing that everything will be fine after you do that. Try installing that version and see if it fixes the problem. The most recent one is dated and is for OX 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10.

That will bring up a list of drivers for your Intuos 4. Then go to the next drop down menu and select your operating system…Mac OS X. Click the first one and scroll down the list until you see Intuos 4 PTK…or Intuos 4 Wireless PTK. You will go to a new page with two drop down menus. Under Legacy Drivers there is a link that says visit our Legacy Drivers. You would want to look on the right side of that page and look for Legacy Drivers. So none of those drivers would be for you. If you go to that page you will see drivers for Cintiqs, Intuos Pro, and Intuos, but the Intuos is the new name for a Bamboo. You have an Intuos 4, which would not be listed on the Wacom Driver page.

I am not sure I can help, but I wonder what driver you installed. As expected and most hardware and software companies do this…at some point, Wacom will stop supporting older models.

But, don’t depend that they will always be on the Wacom site.

So if you keep your drivers, you can update with the knowledge you can fall back to the previous driver. I agree if it is working…no need to update, but then, what if the update improves performance. It is also time for me to start looking for a new computer…gawd…keeping up can be expensive. I have had the Cintiq less than a year, so I can’t justify getting the new 27″, but I sure would love to…LOL. I do try to keep up with the latest tablets and drivers within reason. There have been a few times that we will get a new driver and then another new one within 10 days or so…I figure those were faulty and whatever was wrong was missed in the testing phase. I suspect that they were faulty and replaced quickly. Anyway, the point…I noticed long ago that some drivers went missing. I can’t carry the Cintiq around, but I can the 4 and 5. I still have my Intuos 3, 4, 5 touch and now my 24″ HD Touch Cintiq.

Inside of the main folder I have the date the driver was released and the tablet I was using at the time. I have them in my download folder for Wacom Drivers. I used to remind folks of the legacy drivers but haven’t lately. I’m glad you kept going because it is helpful.
